Kari, Kari, Quite Contrary…
How does your garden grow?
With tomato buds, and lettuce heads,
and sweet pea vines all in a row.
We planted our very first garden mothers day weekend, it is small, but I love it. My only complaint is the bugs, I am going to have to find something that keeps them off of me so that I can hang out in the garden longer. The only glitch was our cucumber plants, apparently cucumber plants don’t do well in clay soil, we took a bit of compost, mixed it with the clay soil in the garden for an even mixture, re mounded, and replanted. I should know in a few days if that worked. If not, no cucumbers.
We started small, 5 foot by 12 foot, just tomatoes (a cherry and regular), 3 peppers (green, red, and jalapeno), cucumber, carrots, peas, lettuce, beans and zucchini. There is just something really great about putting seeds in the ground and watching them sprout, then grow, is just amazing.
